Review: JAGGED LITTLE PILL at Dr. Phillips Center " A Case of Alanis More-Is-Less

Jagged Little Pill is a show with too many characters, too many concerns, and too tidy a conclusion (complete with a sitcom-ish group laugh at the end). Its heart is in the right place and its message well received, but it relies on an extraordinary confluence of extreme circumstances.

Review Round-up: JAGGED LITTLE PILL, THE 39 STEPS, MRS. KRISHNAN'S PARTY and THE REVOLUTIONISTS

In the aftermath of experiencing the Nashville premiere of Jagged Little Pill — the musical inspired by and featuring music from Alanis Morissette’s 1995 album of the same name, other songs written by her and including two created expressly for the production, and featuring a compelling, biting and challenging book by Diablo Cody — one cannot help but lament the show’s abbreviated three-performance run at TPAC’s Andrew Jackson Hall.

Review: JAGGED LITTLE PILL at The Fabulous Fox Theatre

Despite the criticism around its originality, JAGGED LITTLE PILL it is an elegantly constructed show, with an interesting story, an energetic and talented cast, visually engaging choreography, and Grammy winning music. It is a must see for fans of Morissette’s music, and a should see for fans of musical theatre. While it is not among the best of the jukebox musicals, it is a better than average effort.

JAGGED LITTLE PILL Comes to the Fabulous Fox in January

Performances of Jagged Little Pill at the Fabulous Fox run January 19-21. Show times are Friday and Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m., Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.

Review: JAGGED LITTLE PILL at Princess Of Wales

Alanis Morissette's album Jagged Little Pill defined a generation of teens and young adults growing up in the 90s. Morissette's songs encapsulated specific moments and feelings in life and with the rising trend of jukebox musicals, it was only a matter of time before this iconic album received it's introduction to the theatrical stage.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) is now presenting And A Nightingale Sang… on their Main Stage through July 30. This rarely produced jewel of a play written by C.P. Taylor meets the moment as an exceptional feel-good show.
