BIO

Alfredo James Pacino is an American actor whose career spans more than five decades across film, television, and the stage. Known for his intense and psychologically driven performances, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential actors of his generation. Over the course of his career, Pacino has earned the Triple Crown of Acting, winning an Academy Award, two Tony Awards, and two Primetime Emmy Awards, along with multiple Golden Globe, BAFTA, and Screen Actors Guild Awards. His body of work has also been recognized with the Cecil B. DeMille Award, the AFI Life Achievement Award, the National Medal of Arts, and the Kennedy Center Honors, and films featuring his performances have grossed more than $3 billion worldwide.



Pacino trained as a method actor at HB Studio and the Actors Studio, where he studied under Charlie Laughton and Lee Strasberg. He received the Academy Award for Best Actor for Scent of a Woman and earned additional Oscar nominations for performances in films including The Godfather, Serpico, The Godfather Part II, Dog Day Afternoon, …And Justice for All, Dick Tracy, Glengarry Glen Ross, and The Irishman. His film career also includes leading roles in The Panic in Needle Park, Scarecrow, Scarface, Sea of Love, Carlito’s Way, Heat, Donnie Brasco, The Devil’s Advocate, The Insider, Any Given Sunday, Insomnia, Ocean’s Thirteen, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and House of Gucci.

In television, Pacino has appeared frequently in prestige productions, earning Emmy Awards for his performances in HBO’s Angels in America and You Don’t Know Jack. More recently, he starred in the Amazon Prime Video series Hunters. His stage career has been equally significant, earning Tony Awards for Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie? and The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel, and he has continued to return to classical roles, including Shylock in The Merchant of Venice.

Pacino has also worked as a director, making his debut with the documentary Looking for Richard, followed by Chinese Coffee, Wilde Salomé, and Salomé. Since 1994, he has served as joint president of the Actors Studio, maintaining a close connection to actor training and mentorship throughout his career.
