Group Of The Arts has announced the world premiere of "Otra historia" (Another Story), a Spanish play by Pedro Monge Rafuls with the staging and direction of J. Edgar Mozoub.
The play will be featured in the second edition of the LQBTG Hispanic theater festival, "FuerzaFest NY". This festival will be taking place at the Julia de Burgos Performance and Arts Center located at 1680 Lexington Avenue, NY NY in the Spanish Harlem neighborhood from May 10th till May 21st.
"Otra historia" explores how religious and social influences as well as sexual identity confusion affect personal relationships. Friendships will be tested and a turmoulos love triangle will forever change everyone. As Marina's (Mayté Hernández), Teresa's (Damiana Reyes), Marquito's (Mario Saldaña) and Padrino's (Luis Alberto Garcia) lives revolve around José Luis (César Cova). Will love win? Or will the outside influences tarnish their destiny forever?
The cast is made up by a group of talented individuals from all around Latin America. Among them: César Cova (Venezuela), Mayté Hernández (Puerto Rico), Mario Saldaña (Perú), Luis Alberto García (Venezuela), Damiana Reyes (Dominican Republic) and Víctor Alfonso Echavarria (Colombia). Complementing the cast are J. Edgar Mozoub (El Salvador), the director and Pedro Monge Rafuls (Cuba), author of the piece.
"Otra historia" will have a limited engagement of two performances on Thursday May 18th and Saturday May 20th both at 7:00 pm. Tickets are only $20 and it includes the option to see a performance by another group sharing the bill on the same nights. Two shows for the price of one.
