NY Gilbert & Sullivan Players to Sail Across the Pond for Harrogate's 2014 International G&S Festival, Aug 5-10

The New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players (NYGASP), America's preeminent professional Gilbert & Sullivan repertory company, will travel to Harrogate, England to represent the United States at the 21st annual International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival. The company will perform productions of The Pirates of Penzance & The Yeomen of the Guard August 5-10th at the acclaimed event. This year the world's largest G & S celebration will host 60 productions with 2,000 performers and special events at multiple venues in Harrogate from August 2nd through August 26th. "We are very excited to be invited to this important G & S Festival," stated NYGASP's Artistic Director, Albert Bergeret. "Our 40 years of professionalism represents America's contribution to the Gilbert & Sullivan legacy in a unique way, and having the opportunity to do that is a great honor for NYGASP."

The New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players has presented over 2,600 performances throughout the United States, Canada, and England. Incorporating a full orchestra, its productions feature contemporary energy while retaining a traditional respect for each of the G&S masterpieces. New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players is considered by many to be the nation's "leading custodian of the G&S classics."

Starting October 12th, NYGASP will launch its 40th Anniversary Season at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place) with productions of: Ruddigore: Saturday, November 1 (2PM & 8PM); Sunday, November 2 (3PM). H.M.S. Pinafore: Friday, December 26 (8PM); Saturday, December 27 (2PM & 8PM); Sunday, December 28 (3PM); Tuesday, December 30 (3PM) ---- bring your Grandparents Day!; Wednesday, December 31 (8PM) ----- New Year's Eve Gala!
