St. Ann's Warehouse, having just opened its "stunning" (New York Magazine) new theater on the waterfront in Brooklyn Bridge Park, is pleased to announce another major triumph: the organization has already generated greater ticket sales, three months into its 2015-16 season, than it has in any entire season in its previous 36 years. Due to this popular demand, St. Ann's has extended the upcoming New York Premiere of the American Repertory Theater's Nice Fish, conceived, written and adapted by Mark Rylance and Louis Jenkins, directed by Claire van Kampen, and starring Rylance; and the American Premiere of the Young Vic's innovative production of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Benedict Andrews, with a cast led by Gillian Anderson, Ben Foster, Corey Johnson and Vanessa Kirby.

St. Ann's Warehouse will now present Nice Fish in the new Joseph S. and Diane H. Steinberg Theater for six weeks, from February 14 - March 27. Critics are welcome as of Friday, February 19, at 8pm for an official opening Sunday, February 21 at 7pm. A Streetcar Named Desire will now run April 23 - June 4, officially opening Sunday, May 1, at 5pm. Press performances will be announced soon. Please see below for performance schedules and ticketing information.

To round out its 2015-16 season, St. Ann's Warehouse will present the exciting international NoFit State Circus' Bianco, concurrently with A Streetcar Named Desire, as scheduled, from May 3-29, in a bespoke flying-saucer tent under the Brooklyn Bridge, across from the theater.

Esteemed Tony- and Olivier Award-winning Mark Rylance conceived and wrote Nice Fish with one of his heroes, the celebrated poet Louis Jenkins; they originally adapted the play for Minneapolis' Guthrie Theater from Jenkins' book about ice fishingin Minnesota. St. Ann's will present the new American Repertory Theater production, just after it is staged at A.R.T. Claire van Kampen directs a cast led by Rylance.

Nice Fish takes place on a lake in frozen Minnesota where the ice is beginning to creak and groan. It's the end of the fishing season, and two men are out on the ice one last time, angling for answers to life's larger questions. A play woven together from the acclaimed prose poems of Louis Jenkins, Nice Fish reflects nature with a wry surreality. As Jenkins writes, they "are after something big, something down there that is pure need, something that, had it the wherewithal, would swallow them whole."

Minnesota Monthly described the original production of Nice Fish, at Minneapolis' Guthrie Theater in 2013, as "inexplicable and utterly beautiful." The play marks the return of Rylance to St. Ann's Warehouse for the first time since he performed, as Artistic Director of the Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, in the Globe's production of Measure for Measure in 2005.

St. Ann's Warehouse will showcase the signature versatility of its new Steinberg theater with the American Premiere presentation of the immensely acclaimed Young Vic / Joshua Andrews co-production of A Streetcar Named Desire. Arguably, St. Ann's Warehouse is the only New York theater capable of staging this inspired production, directed by Benedict Andrews, with an explosive cast led by Gillian Anderson (Blanche DuBois), Ben Foster (Stanley Kowalski), Corey Johnson (Mitch) and Vanessa Kirby (Stella).

With its transparent, revolving set, surrounded by audiences on all four sides, all conversations are overheard, there's nowhere to hide, and the ensuing tragedy purposefully spins toward its inevitable last line. In one of many stellar reviews of the Young Vic presentation, The New York Times raved, "Ms. Anderson is at her very best in Benedict Andrews' ferocious new production of Tennessee Williams' immortal play... Ben Foster is the first Stanley I have come across to erase memories of the part's stage and screen originator, Marlon Brando." The Observer wrote, "Benedict Andrews' version steams off the stage with pain, excitement and clamour," and The Evening Standard called Anderson "simply unmissable," adding, "Benedict Andrews' direction is admirably thoughtful and bold...Vanessa Kirby eloquent, Ben Foster explosive, and there's a lovely measured Corey Johnson." "Never have I seen a production of the play that was so raw in its emotion, so violent and so deeply upsetting," wrote critic Charles Spencer in The Daily Telegraph. Anderson won an Evening Standard Theatre Award for her performance.

A Streetcar Named Desire, presented in association with Bruno Wang Productions, is the first collaboration between St. Ann's Warehouse and the Young Vic.
