Gallery Players To Hold Open Auditions for Production of “Bad Jews”
Gallery Players is seeking actors and holding open auditions for its upcoming September and its 66th season-opening production of Bad Jews by Joshua Harmon. Community members in their 20’s/30’s are encouraged to try out. The production will be the Ohio premiere of Harmon’s dark comedy telling the story of a family grappling with the life and legacy of their deceased grandfather. This humorous look at how a Jewish family mourns during changing times will raise questions about how to hold onto traditions, pass on values, and honor loved ones’ memories.
Preliminary auditions will be held July 14 and 15, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in the Roth-Resler Theatre at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus, 1125 College Ave., Columbus. No appointments are required to audition. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, but you may bring a prepared monologue. Headshots and resumes are preferred but not required.
