BERGEN COUNTY PLAYERS ANNOUNCES OPEN AUDITIONS
FOR 81st SEASON OPENING MUSICAL MAN OF LA MANCHA

Bergen County Players (BCP) of Oradell, one of America's foremost theater groups, will hold open auditions for its 81st season opening musical Man of La Mancha on May 18th, 20th and 22nd. With a book by Dale Wasserman, music by Mitch Leigh, lyrics by Joe Darion and inspired by Miguel de Cervantes's 17th century masterpiece Don Quixote, this Tony Award-winning musical tells the story of the mad knight, Don Quixote, as a play within a play performed by the poet Cervantes and his fellow prisoners as they await a hearing with the Spanish Inquisition. The beautiful score, featuring the anthem The Impossible Dream, led the way to five Tony Awards in 1965 and a Broadway run of six years

Man of La Mancha will be directed by Jacqueline McElroy-Poquette, with musical direction by Steve Bell. Open auditions will take place at the Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell, NJ.
