LAKEWOOD THEATRE COMPANY TO HOLD AUDITIONS
FOR THE MUSICAL
LA CAGE AUX FOLLES
FEB. 16 & 17, 2013
Lakewood Theatre Company will be having open auditions on SATURDAY, FEB. 16 and SUNDAY, FEB. 17, 2013 for the musical La Cage aux Folles. Call

La Cage aux Folles is directed by Greg Tamblyn. The musical director is Alan D. Lytle.

The director is seeking 11 men (ages 20-60s) and 8 women (ages 20-50s). All ethnicities are encouraged to audition. All roles receive remuneration.

Audition Location: Lakewood Theatre Company at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego.
Materials Needed: Please prepare approximately 32 bars of a song. Auditioners are also requested to bring a resume and an 8X10 glossy photo. For more information, see Lakewood's website at

Performance Schedule: La Cage aux Folles opens May 3, 2013 and continues through June 9, 2013. Performances are Thurs. - Sat. at 7:30 PM, some Sundays at 7:00 PM and some Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM. Lakewood Theatre Company features an intimate 220-seat theatre located at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego.

About the Play: A gay night club owner and his temperamental partner and performing star welcome home the owner's son who wants his family to meet his fiancée's parents. The catch: Her father is head of an anti-gay political party. A story of respect and understanding, parents and children, love and marriage.

The book for La Cage aux Folles is by Harvey Fierstein, Music and lyrics are by Jerry Herman and the story is based on the 1973 play of the same name by Jean Poiret. Noted musical numbers include "The Best of Times and "I Am What I Am." The original 1983 Broadway production won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book.
