Auditions Scheduled for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Auditions for The Green Room Community Theatre’s opening show for the 2012-2013
season, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, are scheduled for Sunday, July
22 & Monday, July 23, 2012 at 7:00 pm. Auditions will be held at the Old Post Office
Playhouse located at 10 South Main Avenue, Newton, NC 28658. Please enter at the
lower level door at the back of the building (on South Ashe Avenue).

There are roles available for men and women, boys and girls, age 9 and up. Joseph
and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a musical, so please prepare a song (about
2 pages worth). The song does not have to be from the show but should be from the
musical theatre genre. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist. A cappella
auditions are discouraged. Wear comfortable clothing for a possible movement audition.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s brilliant musical is totally sung and encompasses a wide variety
of musical styles. Be prepared to show your personality and stage presence through the
song you present. You must be able to be at all performances of the show, including
scheduled school shows. Please be prepared to stay for the entire audition time.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is produced by Corning Cable Systems
and is directed by John David Brown III and David Townsend with musical direction
by John Coffey. Production dates are September 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, & 22 at 8:00 pm and
September 9, 16, & 23 at 3:00 pm.
