SCERA auditions for Acting UP!
Acting Up! is SCERA’s Youth Theatre's National Award-Winning High School Musical Theater Company. If you are ages 15-18 and will be entering 10th-12th grade), you want to be a part of it!
When: Saturday, June 2, 2012
Time: 9:00 AM to 12NOON Initial Audition
1:00 to 3:00PM Callbacks for those invited to stay
Ages: 15-18 or students entering 10th-12th grades this fall
Initial audition will consist of:
16 Bars of an Upbeat (Fast) Broadway Song
16 Bars of a Broadway Ballad (Slower)
30 seconds to 1 minute prepared monologue
A dance routine that will be taught at the audition
Call Backs will be after lunch and will consist of:
Part singing and more intensive dance moves
Auditioners should bring:
Modest dance clothes or clothes that you can move in easily.
Either sheet music or recorded music on CD or IPOD.

Why: Acting Up! is an incredible opportunity for the students. It is also very demanding on time and energy and will require a strong commitment on the part of the parents as well as the student. We want you to understand the program and understand the commitment that it involves.
The mission of Acting Up! is to teach youth to use and increase their talents as they provide service and wholesome entertainment for the community. We achieve this through numerous performance opportunities, service projects, and outreach programs. Our students receive training in acting, vocal performance, and dance through professional level teachers and workshops. If you're interested in having an incredible musical theater experience with a fabulous group of kids, this is the place to be.
