Role Summary: Cast Member

A supernumerary is defined as “an actor without a speaking part, as one who appears in a crowd scene.” In the world of

the operatic stage, a supernumerary (or “Super”) can take on many roles depending on the needs of each individual

production. We are seeking for four (4) local supers to join the cast of Terence Blanchard’s Champion. Non-speaking,

non-singing, but stage/acting experience highly preferred. Candidates should be athletic, as they will appear as boxers.

The supers are highly active throughout the performance, and will appear as boxers, bar patrons, carnival

performers/crowd and more. Supers should share if they are comfortable appearing shirtless on stage. Some

moderately heavy prop lifting may be required; must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.



Important Dates (DATES SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

Staging Rehearsals: April 18 – May 16, 2022

Performances: May 18, 20, 22m, 2022

This engagement pays $675 per week. AGMA has an open membership, therefore we welcome all candidates.

* Approximate Show Running Time: 2 hours 20 minutes, one intermission
