Seeking (all roles available (i.e. not yet offered and accepted) unless otherwise specified):
Mag:
Mid 50s. The mother. Homemaker and peacemaker. Intelligent, bubbling, high-strung, sensitive, but held back by a lack of confidence and a monstrously overbearing mother. Has never blossomed.
Hal:
Late 50s. The father. Veteran of horrific fighting in the Pacific. Strong, silent, deeply unhappy man ... and a serious alcoholic.
Kate:
Mid 20s. The daughter. Fiery, angry, smart. Recently dumped by the love of her life; now living back at home and working as a dancer at a club on the highway. Disillusioned, but passionate.
Jeff:
Early 20s. The older son. Smart, full of himself, funny. Graduated from Rutgers a year and a half ago, and is now living back at home, writing an epic science fiction novel ... in his pajamas.
Bear:
17. The younger son. A miniature of his father. Stocky, deadpan, brooding, alienated. Downbeat proto-goth. Lives in the basement.
Boo Boo:
Man, about 30. The visitor. Dark-haired, nocturnal, good-looking, disarmingly charming and totally cool. A guy who knows exactly who he is ... but has no idea where he came from.
Gramma:
CAST. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible replacements, should any become necessary. Late 70s. Mag's mother. Vivacious, sharp as a tack (or a dagger), but a nightmarishly domineering mother and a total, unapologetic racist. Gives no quarter ... and expects none.
