Marianne Dashwood: The middle Dashwood sister; sensitive, romantic and passionate. Female identifying. Early 20s.
Margaret Dashwood: The youngest Dashwood sister; playful, spirited, eager. Female-identifying. Young teenager.
Mrs. Dashwood: Mother to the Dashwood sisters; recently widowed. Loving, upbeat, good-humored. Female-identifying. 40s-60s.
John Dashwood: Elder half-brother to the Dashwood sisters (from their father’s side); no blood relation to Mrs. Dashwood. Not unkind, but easily misled. Male-identifying. 20s-30s
Fanny (Ferrars) Dashwood: Wife to John Dashwood, sister to Edward and Robert. Conniving, strong-willed, nasty. Female-identifying. 20s-30s
Edward Ferrars: Brother to Robert and Fanny; a gentleman, a bachelor. Introverted, kind, earnest, awkward. Late 20s-early 40s. Male-Identifying.
Robert Ferrars: Younger brother to Edward and Fanny; a callow, silly, young man. 20s-30s. Male Identifying.
Colonel Brandon: middle-aged bachelor; worldly, honorable, loyal. 30s-40s. Male-identifying.
John Willoughby: a handsome, charming, and dashing young man. Good humored. Aloof. 20s. Male Identifying.
Sir John Middleton: A jovial country gentleman, and distant relation to Mrs. Dashwood. Pleasant and friendly. 40s-50s. Male-Identifying.

Lucy Steele: Willful and manipulative. Fawning and calculating. A young girl with no fortune. Late teens to early twenties. Female-Identifying.
Anne Steele: Lucy’s sister; indiscreet, jealous, and slightly dim-witted. Late teens to early twenties. Female-Identifying.
The Gossips: (various ages, any gender) A chorus of high-society creatures; always watching, observing, judging, delighting. “Not necessarily malicious.”

WADSWORTH: (Male-Identifying) A traditional British butler in every sense: uptight, formal, and “by the book.” He is the driving force in the play.
YVETTE: (Female-Identifying) A sexy, French Maid, with secret aspirations. (Also plays THE REPORTER in the final scene).
MISS SCARLET: (Female-Identifying) A dry, sardonic D.C. Madam who is more interested in secrets than sex.
MRS. PEACOCK: (Female-Identifying) The church-going wife of a Senator. A bit batty, neurotic, and quick to hysteria.
MRS. WHITE: (Female-Identifying) A pale, morbid, and tragic woman. Mrs. White may or may not be the murderer of her five ex-husbands.
COLONEL MUSTARD: (Male-Identifying) A puffy, pompous, dense, blow-hard of a military man.
PROFESSOR PLUM: (Male-Identifying) An academic Casanova who woos women with his big … brain.
MR. GREEN: (Male-Identifying) A timid, yet officious, rule follower. He’s a bit of a klutz and awfully anxious.

THE COOK: A threatening presence.
THE MOTORIST: A benign gentleman who rings the wrong doorbell.
AUXILIARY SCARLET: The back of Miss Scarlet during a scene of theatrical trickery. AUXILIARY WADSWORTH: Wadsworth during two scenes of theatrical trickery.
AN AGENT: An FBI agent who helps to save the day.
ENSEMBLE #2 to play:
MR. BODDY: A mobster type fella. A dark cloud follows this guy wherever he goes. THE COP: A “Regular Joe.”
AUXILIARY MUSTARD: The back of Colonel Mustard during a scene of theatrical trickery. AUXILIARY WADSWORTH: Wadsworth during two scenes of theatrical trickery.
AN AGENT: An FBI agent who helps to save the day.

MICHAEL: A former actor-turned-market research executive. He is Jon's roommate and best friend. Character Doublings include COUNTER GUY, DAD, and MARKET RESEARCH GUY. Male Identifying. Vocal range top: Gb4, Vocal range bottom: Bb2
SUSAN: A dancer and Jon's girlfriend. Sexy, kind, independent. Character Doublings include KARESSA, ROSA, JUDY, and MOM. Female-Identifying. Vocal range top: D5, Vocal range bottom: A3

LILY HARRISON: a self-described tight-arsed old biddy living alone in St Petersburg Beach on the Gulf Coast of Florida. As the play opens, she is waiting for her first of six weekly in-home dance lessons. (female, late 60s to mid 70s)
MICAEL MINETTI: an acerbic gay man who has been forced by circumstances to leave his life as a chorus boy on Broadway and take work as a dance instructor. (male, mid 40s, holding on to mid 30s)

Rehearsals: November 5 - November 25
Performances: November 26 - December 14
CHARLES DICKENS: Male. Activist and writer. The Narrator.
EBENEZER SCROOGE: Male. Scrooge is a grumpy old man who has buried a lot of memories by focusing only on his work and material success.
FRED: Male. Fred is the opposite of his uncle Scrooge— upbeat and optimistic, he celebrates his life, even though he’s not well off financially.
JANE: Female. Jane is Fred’s wife; confident and strong, a modern woman who isn’t afraid to let her voice be heard.
The Cratchit Family:
BOB CRATCHIT: Male. Bob is a good-natured and hard-working man, doing his best to stay positive while supporting a large family and working for a very difficult boss.
MRS. CRATCHIT: Female. Bob Cratchit’s supportive wife and mother to their large brood. Featured solos
TINY TIM: Male. Tiny Tim is Cratchit’s son who, despite his physical challenges, still believes in everything around him.
The Spirits:
JACOB MARLEY: Male. The ghost of Jacob Marley shows the tragic end of a life lived like Scrooge’s. He deals with heavy emotions at all times— anger and anguish mostly.
GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST: Female, teens and up. The Ghost seems gentle and ethereal, but her questioning of Scrooge intentionally causes him to address memories he’d be happier to push aside.
GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PRESENT: Adult. Loud and boisterous, the Ghost lives in the moment but mixes his good nature with a serious understanding of the weight of time.
GHOST OF CHRISTMAS YET TO COME: Non-speaking.
From Scrooge’s Past:
FANNY: Scrooge’s Sister. Her warmth is such that she can make even Boy Scrooge’s saddest day better.
ISABEL: Female. Belle is the girl of Young Ebenezer’s dreams, who falls for him but is strong and independent enough to walk away when he chooses to work over her.
FEZZIWIG: Male. Mr. Fezziwig is a huge personality who is loved by all and who wants nothing more than to share his success with everyone around him.
MRS. FEZZIWIG: Female, 40s or older. Much like Mr. Fezziwig, Mrs. Fezziwig is a big personality who turns everything she touches into a celebration.
