Seeking (all roles are available unless otherwise specified):

Note: All actors must be skilled in verse-speaking technique.

Viola (Cesario):

Reads in her early 20s. Young woman, twin sister to Sebastian. Passionate, clever and likably earnest. Slim, boyish figure preferred.

Orsino:

Early 30s. Young, proud, lovesick duke. Handsome and dynamic, with an appealing air. Dashing leading man-type, but requires an actor with a strong understanding of comic technique.

Olivia:

Beautiful young countess, in mourning. Proud, and unaware of her real feelings, she falls head-over-heels in love with a woman whom she thinks is a boy.

Malvolio:

30s-50s. Steward in Olivia’s house. Dour and puritanical nature. Pompous and overbearing. Requires an actor of great comic skill.

Maria:

20s-50s. Olivia’s gentlewoman. Clever, saucy, cynical and mischievous.

Sir Andrew Aguecheek:

20s-30. Sir Toby’s companion. Simple and slightly dim gentleman of leisure. Easily led and manipulated, prone to acting without fully thinking a situation through. Great comic skills required.

Feste/Fabian:

30s-50s. Playful and outwardly frivolous in nature, but possesses a dark and mysterious inner life. Clown skills and some dance, juggling and singing necessary.

Valentine / As Cast and Curio / As Cast:

Young men, 20s.

Sebastian:

20s. Viola’s twin brother. Noble young man. Handsome. Excellent verse-speaking technique a must.

Antonio / As Cast:

Late 20s-40. Loving, passionate; a man of powerful feelings. In love with Sebastian.

Captain / Priest / As Cast:

Male, 40s-60s.

Sir Toby Belch:

CAST. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary. 40s-60s. A pure force of vitality and noisy good cheer. Role for a character actor capable of playing a range of vulgarity and some melancholy.

Note from casting personnel: “Actors of all races and ethnicities are encouraged to audition for each role, with the goal of creating a diverse company.”
