TROUBLE IN MIND
[WILLETTA MAYER] Female, 50s, African American. An experienced middle-aged actress, hoping her lead role in a Broadway play will be a departure from the many stereotypes she's had to play.
[AL MANNERS] CAST Male, 50s, Caucasian. Director of the Broadway Show Willetta has been cast in. Thinks of himself as an ally.
[EDDIE FENTON] (Male, Caucasian, 40s) Stage Manager of Broadway Show. Always trying to get it right.
[JOHN NEVINS] (Male, African American, 30s) An idealistic young actor making his Broadway debut. Believes any problem can be solved.
[BILL O'WRAY] (Female, Caucasian, 50s) Leading man who projects power onstage and anxiety offstage. Insecure guy who works all the time.
[MILLIE DAVIS] CAST (Female, 30s-40s, African American) Quick witted and dressed to the nines. She has a wry and funny take on the stereotypical roles she's had to play thus far in her career and show business in general.
[SHELDON FORRESTER] CAST (Male, African American, 60s) Wise, elderly and non confrontational. Willing to compromise because he needs the work.
[JUDITH SEARS] CAST (Female, Caucasian, 20s) Young and naïve, Judy graduated from Yale drama, and this is her first professional job.
[HENRY] (Male, Caucasian, 60s-70s) The 78-year-old Irish doorman at the theatre with a rebellious streak. Willetta's ally.
