ALL ACTORS WILL BE SIGNED ON AS ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS. Actors must be available to audition, rehearse, and perform in NYC. No Housing provided.
This is not a tour.
ALL CHARACTERS MUST SING & DANCE.
This is an updated version of The Wizard of Oz, set to a contemporary Latin rhythm. All actors should be able to speak scripted Spanish comfortably. Seeking a diverse company; ethnic performers strongly encouraged to submit.
SEEKING:
La Bruja: (18+ female to play multiple roles. - Musical Theatre Mezzo Belter): Sophisticated and smooth, tricky, and even a little mean. She’s a fabulous, tango dancing witch. Ethnic Performers strongly encouraged to submit.
Male Understudy: (18+ male to understudy 3 tracks- Bari-tenor ) Covers three male roles, each playing multiple parts, including a bilingual Scarecrow, and Iron Chef whose food lacks heart, and a cowardly Mountain Lion. Begins rehearsals on 7/16/11. Ethnic Performers strongly encouraged to submit.
Female Understudy: (18+ female to understudy 3 tracks- Musical Theatre/Pop Soprano Belter) Covers three female roles, each playing multiple parts, including Dora, a 15 year old on a journey, La Maga, a fantastic pop Diva, and La Bruja, a fabulous, tango dancing witch. Rehearsals begin 7/16/11. Ethnic Performers strongly encouraged to submit.
