Actors auditioning will be asked to prepare 32 bars either from, or in the style of the show. Actors may be asked to attend at dance call at the end of the day on which they audition. Actors wishing to audition for ensemble roles are encouraged to attend the Equity Chorus Call on November 14 (see separate notice).

Aunt Em:

Late 40s. African American female. Big, soulful voice.

Dorothy:

18+ to play late teens. African American female. Big voice, strong dancer.

Uncle Henry:

Late 40s. African American male.

Addaperle:

Early 30s. African American female. Strong comedic timing. Great singer/dancer.

Scarecrow:

Early 20s. African America male. Strong dancer/singer. Gymnastics a plus.

Tin Man:

20s-30s. African American male. Strong singer/dancer.

Lion:

20s-30s. African American male. Athletic dancer in great physical shape. Big Voice.

The Wiz:

30s- 40s. African American, Hispanic or Asian male. Great dancer with a big personality.

Evillene:

20s-30s. African American female. Sexy, great physical shape, Beyonce meets Condoleezza Rice. Huge voice, great dancer.

Glinda:

30s-40s. African American female. Beautiful voice, strong dancer.

Ensemble:

20s. African American males and females. Excellent dancer/singers to play a variety of roles including: Lord Underling, soldiers, Tornado/munchkins, yellow brick road poppies, field mice, Emerald City Citizens, crows, Kalidahs, winged monkeys.
