Theatre states, “This production will extend the range of acting itself, challenging received notions of performing Shakespeare, and indeed creating a theatrical event as “rich and strange” as we believe THE TEMPEST itself was in 1611. We envision a production of THE TEMPEST that happens in a kind of antique magic box, or a toy theater come to life. For the actors, this means performing with a highly structured, artificial physicality, while retaining the vibrant reality of the language, story and feeling.
Seeking Actors (M/F) for this ensemble-cast production. Experience with classical and verse drama is essential.
