Note: The Mystery of Edwin Drood is a play within a play. The characters indicated in parentheses are the actors at “The Music Hall Royale” and play the characters whose name precedes them.

ROSA BUD (Miss Deirdre Peregrine) [Early 20’s]: Young, pretty, ingénue. An orphan. Engaged to Edwin Drood as an arrangement made between both of their now, late fathers. Terrified of her music teacher and Drood’s uncle, John Jasper. Legit soprano.

HELENA LANDLESS (Miss Janet Conover) [Mid 20’s – Early 30’s]: Neville’s twin sister. Originally from Ceylon, newly landed in England. Her appearance isexaggerated but alluring and her untraceable accent and vivid garb make her mysteriously foreign. Her deprived childhood made her into the strong, compassionate woman she is today. She is colorful and funny, yet sympathetic. Strong comedic actor and singer.

NEVILLE LANDLESS (Mr. Victor Grinstead) [Mid 20’s – Early 30’s]: Helena’s twin brother. Originally from Ceylon, newly landed in England. His deprived childhood left him with a bitter hatred and vengeful attitude. He is more proud than is good for him. He is immediately smitten by Rosa Bud and not dissuaded by the knowledge that she is engaged to Drood. Strong comedic actor and singer.

REVEREND CRISPARKLE (Mr. Cedric Moncrieffe) [Late 40’s and up]: Converted to priesthood after the death of Rosa Bud’s mother, now the Reverend of Cloisterham Cathedral. Neville Landless's mentor. A respected man in the community. A peace-keeper. Strong comedic actor and singer.

DURDLES (Mr. Nick Cricker) [40’s]: Works at the Cloisterham Cathedral Cemetery and knows more than anyone else about it. The “Vaudeville clown” of the play. Strong comedic actor and singer.

DEPUTY (Master Nick Cricker) [Late teens – Early 20’s]: A young boy. He is the son of the actor that plays Durdles. Strong comedic actor and singer. Physical comedy a plus.

BAZZARD (Mr. Phillip Bax) [40’s]: Reverend Crisparkle’s assistant and an aspiring playwright. Very likable. Although this is a cameo, he often resurfaces during the voting section in Act 2 as an audience favorite. Strong comedic actor and singer.

The roles of PRINCESS PUFFER (Miss Angela Prysock), EDWIN DROOD (Miss Alice Nutting) - TBA

THE CHAIRMAN, WILLIAM CARTWRIGHT (Thomas Sapsea) and JOHN JASPER (Mr. Clive Paget) are cast. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary.
