Seeking
ONE ACTRESS for a series of site-specific plays to be produced at the historic Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA in September, 2019. (Local actors particularly encouraged to attend)
Harriet Hosmer, age 40-50, white. Harriet Hosmer was an American sculptor working in Rome during the mid-1800s, to international acclaim. She was bright, mischevious, incredibly smart (also an inventor and even wrote a play). She was short, compact, energetic, with a quick wit. She was a lesbian with many short and long-term relationships, with a penchant for dating other women sculptors, or royalty. The actor cast in this role will be asked to play at least one other role in this 5-play series of short site-specific plays--certainly an Armenian immigrant to America in the 1920s.
For this role, flexibility is a must. The actor will be playing multiple roles in an outdoor, natural setting at a Cemetery, with performers moving from site to site for each play. Previous experience/involvement with new play development is a big plus, as is previous outdoor performance work. Many rehearsals will be outdoors, on a variety of terrain.
