New York premiere. Inspired by the true New York story of concert violinist Erica Morini and her legendary Stradivarius violin, the play is a delicate duet between Erica, a difficult former child prodigy, and Brian, a stubbornly independent violin-maker she hires to restore and then sell her beloved Strad. As Brian makes the arrangements, the question of what will become of the priceless instrument threatens to destroy their unexpected friendship. Through classical music and fiery confrontations, Brian and Erica must face the choices they’ve made about their music and their lives.

Seeking (all roles are available):

Erica Morini:

65-75. Difficult, tireless woman who is a classically trained violinist and former prodigy. Presents herself as Italian American, although she is of Jewish descent. Refined and elegant. Of the Upper East Side, in dwelling and her attitude.

Brian Skarstad:

40s. Rough around the edges. Works with his hands. Restores and repairs violins. Has a gift – is an artist with his work. A family man, proud, talented. A closet intellectual and artist.

Young Girl:

12-17 years old. Actress must have strong classical violin training, and be comfortable playing on stage. She will not speak.
