The score has a folk music sensibility, but also includes country, gospel, R&B, folk-rock and traditional musical theatre styles. Unless otherwise specified in the descriptions, prepare a 16-bar cut that shows a broad range (We STRONGLY urge a folk, folk-rock song or something in that style). Be prepared to sing more if asked. Bring sheet music, pianist provided. Bring picture and resume, stapled together.
Callbacks: 3/12, 3/15, 3/16. All ethnicities encouraged to audition.
Seeking strong singer-actors. Note: the role of ULYSSES has been cast.

Marcus Macauley:
Male, mid-late 20s. Homer’s older brother, who is overseas fighting in WWII. Misses his family and his girlfriend Mary. Good-looking and fun, also introspective and sad. Tenor with slightly more contemporary sound. Range: D3-G#4

Black Male, 20-30s. Loud, booming voice, on a spirited man with a huge smile. Doubles as a Soldier. Tenor capable of singing in a gospel style. Range: E3-B4
