Seeking:
Mike Slattery:
Early/mid 40s. Former MVP quarterback in the NFL, still in great shape: tall, built, rugged. Still too young for a mid-life crisis, but struggling to find purpose and direction after a life in professional sports. Obsessed with his daughter’s football career, and trying to be a good father and husband, with very little experience.
Beth Slattery:
Early 40s. Former high school cheerleader who married the quarterback. A trophy wife, but smart with a sophisticated, biting sense of humor. Has spent most of her life on the figurative sidelines, but is now coming into her own with a new career, and has no interest in living in her husband's shadow.
Aaron Slattery:
17. High school junior and the “black sheep” of the family. Has a very dry sense of humor, razor-sharp wit and endless sarcasm that hides a very real sadness and insecurity. Underneath the facade is a very lonely kid. Definitively not a jock, he still supports, loves and protects his quarterback sister, who is his only real friend.
Katie Slattery:
17. Aaron’s twin sister, a star high school quarterback. She is athletic, and strong enough to be a nationally ranked football player. Attractive and feminine, she’s as interested in dating guys on the team as in playing on the field with them. Very used to pleasing people, especially her overbearing father. She’s the glue that's holding her family together, and she's painfully aware of this.
Natasha:
17. A bit of a high school outsider. The kind of girl who’s maybe on the fringe in high school, but would go to Oberlin and be considered hot. Not the norm by high school standards, she's trying to put her life back together after a reputation-destroying event. An old soul: funny, smart, wise, fragile and emotionally raw.
Jake Matthews:
17-18. High school jock. The kind of high school kid who’s had girls falling all over him since he was in middle school. A little bit of a jerk, but really just a kid who's been thrust into very adult situations.
