Preparation

Prepare 16 bars of a standard musical theatre song and 16 bars of a contrasting belt/gospel/pop song. Not every singer will be asked for both cuts. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided, but may not transpose. Please bring a photo and resume, stapled back-to-back.

New musical based on the life of Aimee Semple McPherson, the world's first media superstar evangelist whose passion for saving souls equaled her passion for making headlines. Set in 1920's Los Angeles, holiness collides with Hollywood in the extraordinary tale of one woman's charismatic rise to fame amidst scandalous love affairs and growing controversy, inevitably ending in her much-publicized fall from grace.

SEEKING THE FOLLOWING:
Strong male and female singers of all races, ethnic backgrounds, and sizes. Characters are 20s-40s. Singers must move well. Play various working class church parishioners in the multi-ethnic community of Aimee’s church. Some singers will understudy the principals. Seeking all voice types, must be very capable of singing in both musical theatre and gospel styles.
