Regional premiere. Seeking (all roles are available): Ambara: Palestinian woman, 30s. Writer. Wife of Yusef al Qudsi. Modern, but not necessarily Western. Never melodramatic or sentimental. Yusef: Palestinian man, 46. Notorious rebel. Old school. Wears a salt-and-pepper beard, trimmed short. Has a swagger, but with humor and childishness. Tariq: Palestinian man, 35. Successful businessman. Yusef's nephew. Modern and Western in dress. Speaks with a hint of a British accent. Michael O’Donegal: Irish, mid 20s."Criminal" serving in the British army in Palestine. Rajib: Indian man, 30s. Conscript in the British army. Wears a turban, but other than that is in British army attire. General Falbour / Hajj Waleed: Falbour: Man, mid 60s. Has a large, well-groomed white mustache. Not entirely brilliant, but loves Britain, and that’s enough. Waleed: Man, 70s. Servant who works for and lives with Ambara and Yusef. He’s been there long enough that he is more an uncle than a servant. Does chores easily for a man of his age. Lieutenant Douglas Duff: British, 30s. Preppy officer. Lives to please the general. Samuel Hirsch / Soldier / Emiliano Zapata: Hirsch: German Jew, 40. British-educated. Respected member of the growing Jewish community in Palestine. Soldier: British. Zapata: A ghost. Reggie: British businessman, young and energetic. Only recently arrived in Palestine. Theater’s statement: “Roles are open to Non-Traditional Casting.
