FOR MUSICALS, please prepare a brief cut of a contemporary musical theatre or 80's rock song and bring sheet music in your key. FOR PLAYS, please prepare a 1-minute contemporary comic monologue. Please bring a picture/resume stapled together. Please note on your resume if you are a Sharon, CT local hire.

JUSTICE CHARLIER: Any Gender Identity, but Female Presenting. BIPOC/PGM. Age Range: 30s - 50s. Vocal Range: Strong Belt G3-Db5. A former performer, maternal figure with commanding presence & easy charm.

LONNY BARNETT: Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: late 20s - 40s. Vocal Range: Strong Rock tenor, D3 - D5. Narrator of the story. Confident, silly, magnetic with a strong rock tenor voice.

DENNIS DUPREE: Male Presenting; BIPOC; Age Range: 30s - 40s. Vocal Range: Baritenor rock voice, D3-G4. Laid back and has seen it all. Runs the Bourbon Room club on the Sunset Strip.

SHERRIE CHRISTIAN: ROLE IS CAST. Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 20s; Vocal Range: Mezzo Soprano or Soprano, G3-F5. A Midwestern girl, pursuing her dreams of stardom in LA.

STACEE JAXX: ROLE IS CAST. Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 30s - 40s; Vocal Range: Rock tenor, C3-Eb5. A caricature of an over-the-top debauched rock star at the top of his game.

DREW: Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: late 20s - 30s. Vocal Range: Strong Rock tenor, Bb3 – G5. An appealing, good-guy rocker with great, easy comedic timing, a boyish charm. Works at the Bourbon Room waiting for his dreams to come true.

HERTZ KLEINMAN: Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: late 50s - 60s. Vocal Range: Comedically strong baritone or tenor vocals, F3 – G#4. Uptight, cold, intimidating German businessman trying to buy up the Strip to develop it. The bad guy of the show. Comedically strong baritone.

FRANZ KLEINMAN: Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: late 20s - 30s. Vocal Range: Db3 – A4 (E5 in falsetto). Hertz’s son, young, mildly flamboyant German. Works for his father but not by choice. Shy, gentle with a big heart. Strong vocals and excellent comedic timing.

REGINA: Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 20s; Vocal Range: Eb5 – A3A. Fun, hippie type, earthy girl who fights against the attempted take-over of The Strip. Strong comedic timing and belt vocals.

BARRY GLICKMAN: Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 30s to 50s; Vocal Range: High Baritone/Tenor, B2 – F#4. Flamboyant, gay Broadway star with no filter and strong comic ability. Longs to be of help to Emma.

EMMA NOLAN: Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range 18+ to play teens; Vocal Range: Mezzo/Soprano, F3 - E5. An out, queer teenager living in Indiana. Very smart, a bit of a tomboy, does *not* fit in with her peers.

TOM HAWKINS: Male Presenting; BIPOC/PGM; Age Range: 30s to 50s; Vocal range: High Baritone, G2 – C4. A small-town, high school principal. Sincere, compassionate. Big fan of Deedee. Strong singer.

DEE DEE ALLEN: ROLE IS CAST. Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 30s to 50s; Vocal Range: Alto with strong belt, E3 - D5. A Broadway diva with a huge ego to match her huge talent.

TRENT OLIVER: ROLE IS CAST. Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Mid-40s to Early-60s; Wide vocal range, C3- Ab4. A pretentious Juilliard grad. Charming, confident, narcissistic, great sense of comedy.

ALYSSA GREENE: Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range 18+ to play teens; Vocal Range: Ab 3 - Eb5. A cheerleader and top student. Secretly Emma’s girlfriend. Faces constant pressure from her mother and friends. A strong singer and mover.

SHELDON or “SHELLY” SAPERSTEIN: Any gender; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 30s to 50s; Vocal range: Open. A charismatic press agent who works for both Dee Dee and Barry. Dry wit.

ANGIE DICKINSON: Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 30s to 50s; Vocal Range: Alto with strong belt, Ab3 - E5. A long running ensemble member in the Broadway production of Chicago. Jaded Fosse dancer with a heart of gold. Strong singer/dancer.

SHELBY: Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Mid-20s. Loved by all in town but is rebellious. A diabetic; who doesn’t take her illness very seriously. Doesn’t want her mother fussing over her.

M'LYNN: Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Early-40s to Mid-50s; Shelby’s mother. An overprotective mom who puts on a brave face and leans on her group of friends.

TRUVY: Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 40s; Owner of a small-town beauty salon. Knows everyone’s business and has advice for anyone who asks, with a country saying. Southern charm, genuine, a good friend.

OUISER: Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 60s; Eccentric, miserable, also very wealthy. A cranky old lady who often ends up being the butt of the joke.

CLAIREE: Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 60s; Very wealthy, the widow of the former mayor of the town. Sarcastic, best pals with Ouiser but loves to poke fun. Doesn’t take anything too seriously.

ANNELLE: Female Presenting, Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 20s-30s; Painfully shy, awkward, beginner hairdresser. Develops into a person of faith, means well and is a sincerely caring person

SALLY BROWN: Female Presenting. Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 30s to 40s; Vocal range: Soprano or Mezzo Belt. B3 to Ab5. Charlie’s little sister. Fun, bossy, perceptive & precocious. Balances angst with innocence.

LUCY VAN PELT: Female Presenting. Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 30s to 40s; Vocal range: Mezzo Soprano/alto, G3 to F#5. Sarcastic, crabby, opinionated, manipulative, self-important older sister to Linus who bosses Charlie Brown around.

SNOOPY: Any gender; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 30s to 40s; Vocal range: Tenor. C3 to A4. Charlie Brown’s dog. A clownish, vaudevillian scene stealer, who is more human-like than dog. Great physical comedy skills.

LINUS VAN PELT: Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 20s to 30s; Vocal range: High Baritone. Bb2 to E4. Encouraging, positive attitude and the most educated of the bunch. Acutely sensitive with brains and warmth.

SCHROEDER: Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 20s to 30s; Vocal range: Tenor/Baritenor Bb2 to Ab4. Distinguished by his precocious skill at playing the toy piano, as well as by his love of classical music.
