Seeking:

Guang [baritone/tenor A2-A4]

Asian male, age 30’s-40’s. Gritty, pragmatic, non-expressive on the surface, but with an imaginative inner life. Adept at comedy and tragedy. Strong singer with an aptitude for vocal styles that include classical, rap, and Asian folk singing. Ability to sing in Mandarin a plus. Vocal range will be tailored to the performer.

Marco [baritenor]

Male in his 20’s-30’s – preferably Latino – to play various roles, including Marco (a competitive,

wisecracking Mexican deliveryman, age 22). Must speak Spanish well. Strong singer and rapper.

Ming [mezzo-soprano]

Asian actress in her 30’s to play various roles, including Guang’s wife Ming (age 33, sexy, smart, blunt). Strong singer and rapper, ability to sing in Mandarin a plus.

Wang Yue, Nephew [tenor]

Asian male actor in his 20’s-30’s to play various roles, including Guang’s imaginative, bratty 8-year-old son Wang Yue, his 22-year-old dead nephew. Strong singer, ability to sing in Mandarin a plus.

Boss’ Wife/Zhong Yi [bass baritone]

Asian male actor in his 40’s-50’s to play various roles including Zhong Yi (Guang’s confident, trickster brother-in-law, soldier-strong, age 50) and Guang’s restaurant boss’ wife (age 45, Cruella de Ville type).
