Prepare a song to show vocal range. Bring sheet music in proper key; an accompanist will be provided. Brief reading from sides provided at the audition. Visually impaired performers may request a copy of the sides in advance upon making an appointment.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND

Alice
Ingénue, mezzo soprano/soprano, curious young girl that is energetic. Age 18- 25
Emily,/Duchess
Mezzo soprano, Alice’s older sister down to earth, normal child, doubles as the Duchess, a zany lady with a pig for a baby. She is slightly (okay-very) over the top. Age 20-40.
White Rabbit
Character actor, baritone, nervous fellow, very confident even around the Queen
Caterpillar/ Mad Hatter
Comedic character actor, baritone, two very zany characters, must be very agile, the Caterpillar is a very snooty.
Cheshire Cat/Dormouse
Comedic character actress, mezzo soprano, foil to the Caterpillar when she is the Cheshire Cat, slinks around and smiles mysteriously, Dormouse is partner to the Mad Hatter, both talk together quickly and in circles
Knave of Hearts
Juvenile, baritone/tenor, he is somewhat the sane one of the cast, but is very frightened of the Queen of Hearts and fears for his life. Age 18-25.
Governess/Queen of Hearts
Character actress, mezzo soprano/soprano The Governess is a tough-nosed nanny who believes in strict rules and no nonsense. The Queen of Hearts is tough-nosed, but all nonsense. Very broad comedic style. Age 30-55
ROBIN HOOD

Thomas/Robin Hood
Leading man, baritone/tenor, dashing, daring, fun loving, in good physical shape with fencing and quarter staff skills, a touch of Errol Flynn. Age 25-35
Daniel/Little John
Character actor, bass/baritone, narrator of the tale, very sure of himself, but loves a good joke, must be tall and have quarterstaff skills. Age 40-45
Bump/Friar Tuck
Comic character actor, baritone, needs a strong back. Age 30-40
Dudley/Sheriff of Nottingham
Character actor, baritone, villain, must be nasty, but with a bit of sarcasm and wit. Age 30-55
Katherine/Maid Marian
Ingénue, mezzo soprano/soprano, feisty young women in love with Robin Hood. Age 20-25
Margaret/Nurse Elizabeth
Comedic character actor, alto/mezzo soprano, she is the comic foil for Maid Marian. Age 40-45
Bother/The Mute
A mime through most of the show, mezzo/soprano or baritone, could be male or female, is the apprentice who wants to be a star, the straight man to the antics of the Sheriff of Nottingham and Robin Hood.

Character actor, baritone, greedy and unhappy king. Age 30-40
Rumpelstiltskin
Character actor, baritone/tenor, a mysterious and strange man, very clever and has magical powers. Age 30-40
Rowena
Ingénue, Mezzo Soprano, sweet, not too bright, yet feisty young daughter of the Miller, always getting her father out of trouble. Age 20-30
Kid 1 and Kid 2
(male or female) Mezzo soprano or baritone/tenor, narrators and Greek chorus of the story, pop up almost anywhere at any time. Age 18-30
