Prepare a short contemporary musical theatre or pop song appropriate for the style of Burt Bacharach’s music. Bring sheet music in correct key; accompanist provided but may not transpose.

Ben:
40s. A genuinely talented but unfulfilled musician. He’s spent his life struggling to find the balance between his passion for his music and his passion for Molly. His dark wit is his only release from the memories. High baritone, pop with soul.
Molly:
Mid 30s – Early 40s. Her life hasn’t turned out the way she might have envisioned. The many sacrifices she’s made for Ben have left her slightly bitter but not completely despondent. She still has a biting a sense of humor. High alto, sexy soul, pop sound.
Young Molly:
Early 20s. Molly’s youthful self. Pretty. Full of joy and optimism. A searcher. High alto, pop, sweet soulful sound, belt.
