Please prepare a short monologue reminiscent of the 1950s-60s. Play is a drama.

Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back.

Seeking (all roles are available unless otherwise specified; Equity contracts remain available; Theatre strongly encourages South Florida actors to attend):

Phil Granger:

AVAILABLE ROLE. Character ages from 27 to 51. Complex World War II veteran, emotionally damaged from his war experience. At one moment quiet and introspective, moving quickly to manic intensity.

Peg:

AVAILABLE ROLE. Character ages from 31 to 43. Jack’s wife. Chameleon-like quality to adapt to any situation. Intuitively intelligent, and very much a product of her times.

Tom:

AVAILABLE ROLE. Character ages from 30 to 36. Phil and Jack’s business partner. Later, love interest of Meredith. Sensitive man without the cynical armor of Jack and Meredith.

Dorothy:

AVAILABLE ROLE. Mid - late 20s. Chicago girl wanting to have fun. Also has a caring quality, and is deeply sensitive to hurting another’s feelings.

The following roles are cast. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary.

Meredith Granger:

CAST. Woman. Character ages from 26 to 50. Phil’s wife. Strong, businesslike. Has an infinite capacity to care for and nurture her husband.

Jack:

CAST. Character ages from 35 to 47. Meredith’s brother. Loud, bull-in-a-china-shop salesman. Wants to be the leader of every group, but lacks the skills to pull it off.

Michael Granger:

CAST. Age 17. Meredith and Phil’s son.
