Equity Principal Auditions

Monday, January 3, 2011 at Nola Studios

10 AM – 5:30 PM 250 West 54th Street, 11th floor

Lunch from 1:30 – 2. New York, NY

Prepare a traditional musical theatre piece which is right for the show. Bring sheet music; accompanist provided.

Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

Seeking:

Don Lockwood:

Handsome, charismatic, and talented silent-film star who is ultimately able to make the transition to “talkies”. Strong singer, actor, dancer (must tap). Age range 20s, 30s

Cosmo Brown:

Comedic side-kick to Don. He’s come up thru the ranks with Don and plays ambiance music for the silent pictures. Strong singer, actor, dancer (must tap). Age range: 20s, 30s

Kathy Selden:

Fresh, idealistic, movie wanna-be. Strong singer, actor, dancer (must tap). Age range: 20s

Lina Lamont:

Beautiful but dumb silent-film star struggling to make the transition to “talkies”. Comedic actor/singer who can affect a strong, unpleasant regional twang. Age range: 20s, 30s

RF Simpson:

Successful film magnate; he sometimes caves to stronger personalities. Charismatic character actor. Age range—50s.

Roscoe Dexter:

Film director during the hectic transition from silent to sound pictures. He is flummoxed by the new technology. Comedic character actor. Age range—40s, 50s
