Please prepare two 16-bar vocal selections (one up-tempo, one ballad) that show your voice at its best. Bring sheet music in the correct ke; accompanist is provided, but may not transpose. Cuts should be clearly marked.

Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back. In addition, please complete the Theatre’s audition application (available at the audition, or in advance at
www.pittsburghclo.org/pages/clo_auditions).

Seeking (all roles are available):

Notes: The role of Tina is not involved in this audition. No housing, transportation or per diem available to out-of-area performers.

Judy / Ginger:

28-40. Judy: Tina’s mother, a simple June Cleaver-type housewife. She is transformed into Ginger, a Norma Desmond-type Broadway diva. F below middle C to Bb one octave above middle C.

Sylvia St. Croix:

40-60. Character is to be played by a MAN in drag. Sylvia is the stereotypical “in-your-face” talent manager, who is obsessed with making Tina a star. A (one octave below middle C) to E above middle C.

Miss Thorn / Miss Block:

35-55. Miss Thorn: Wannabe actress who had to settle for teaching third grade. She is the director of the school play. Her integrity in casting is questionable. Miss Block: Lesbian. Reporter who wants to do a story about Tina’s past. E below middle C to B above middle C.

Lita Encore:

45-60. Judy’s adoptive mother. Theater critic with a poison pen; hates musicals. Ethel Merman-type with a strong belt. E below middle C to D one octave above middle C.

Louise Lerman / Eve:

Louise: 12. The student who beats out Tina for the lead in the school play. Has limited talent. Larger than Tina.

Eve: 25. Efficient personal assistant to Broadway star Ginger. Eve wants Ginger’s life, and copies her every mannerism. F# below middle C to C above middle C.
