Seeking:
Mama Nadi:
Female, 40s, a shrewd business woman, tough and sexy, with an arrogant stride and majestic air. Should be able to carry a tune.
Salima:
Female, 20-30s, a sturdy peasant woman whose face betrays a world weariness. She was raped and taken from her home by a group of Congolese soldiers
Josephine:
Female, 20-30s, a survivor, a sexy woman in Mama Nadi's canteen who provides frequent male companionship. Proud, combative and aggressively sensual.
Sophie:
Female, 18+ to play late teens, a luminous beauty with an air of defiance, proud, educated. “Ruined” by a militia in the Congolese civil war. Sings well.
Simon/Soldier/Miner/Aid Worker:
Male, 20-30s, formerly a farmer, a good friend as well as a worn and ragged soldier of Osembenga. Also plays a rebel soldier, a miner and an aid worker.
