Seeking:

Mama Nadi:

Mid 30s- Early 40s. African Female: Owner of a cozy whorehouse and bar in the war torn Congo rain-forest. An intelligent, charismatic, and vigilant woman who takes pride in her establishment and continues to hold fast to her rules as the war surrounds her. Despite her dark past and the present violence she is determined to make the best of the life she has built for herself. Must be comfortable with movement and have a pleasant singing voice.

Christian:

Mid 30s- Early 40s. African Male: A traveling salesman, a philosopher, and a poet. A sensitive soul, he struggles with the inhumanity required to make a living in the jungle and would prefer to be drinking a Fanta at Mama Nadi’s. Good sense of rhythm/movement.

Sophie:

Early-Late 20s. African Female: The bookkeeper and bar singer at Mama Nadi’s. She is beautiful, intelligent, and introverted. Although shy, she is strong willed and will find a way out. Must have a strong singing voice.

Salima:

Mid 20s-mid 30s. African Female: A simple farm girl, wife and mother. She was abducted from her home by soldiers and traded to Mama Nadi. She has been traumatized by her ordeal and is grief stricken but still fighting to make her living.

Josephine:

Mid 20s-mid 30s. African Female: The veteran of the whorehouse. Josephine is confident and sexual, a strong dancer and a great physique. She has great energy and comedic timing.

Jerome Kisembe:

Mid 20s-Late 30s. African Male: Rebel leader. His physical and mental strength have allowed him to rise up in the ranks and become a powerful leader. He was raised in the jungle and is threatening and resourceful.

Commander Osembenga:

30s-Early 40s. African Male: A military leader. His austere presence creates fear amidst a calm and controlled exterior. He is not from these parts and carries an air of condescension wherever he goes. You believe he could be capable of anything.

Soldier/Miner/Aid Worker:

20s-30s. African Male.

Solider/Miner/Aid Worker:

20s-30s. African Male.
