Wednesday, August  22, 2012                                           at the Actors' Equity Audition Center

9:30 AM — 5:30 PM                                                        165 West 46th Street, 2nd Floor

Lunch from 1 - 2.                                                                      New York, NY  (studio C)

 

Prepare a brief song appropriate to the style of the shows.  Bring sheet music in correct key; accompanist provided but may not transpose.

Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

AINT MISBEHAVIN’

1st Reh: 10/11/12.   Runs: 10/25/12 - 11/11/12

Director/ Choreographer: DJ Salisbury

Seeking:

 

Ken:

Charming, witty, gregarious African-American performer who sings  and moves well.  Mid 30s to 45. preferably tall, with a wicked sense of humor.  Must be adept in 1920’s-30’s period vocal stylings. Broad range Bari-Tenor.

 

Andre:

Sleek, slick, sexy, African-American performer with an appealing, mysterious edge who sings and has a strong dance background in period styles.  Late 20s-late 30s.  Broad range Bari-tenor.

 

Armelia:

Flirtatious African-American performer who sings and moves very  well, basic tap.  Mid 30’s.  Witty, with a ribald sense of humor and winking charm.  Must be adept in 1920’s-30’s period vocal stylings. Soprano and low, bluesy belt.

 

Nell:

Saucy, raucous African-American performer who sings and moves very well, basic tap.  Mid 30s.  Sexy and confident-- a real firecracker.  Must be adept in 1920’s-30’s period vocal stylings.  Mezzo Soprano and high belt.

 

Charlaine:

Girlish, energetic African-American performer who sings and has a strong dance background in period styles, and intermediate or better tap.  Late 20s- mid 30s.  The charming, playful, girl-next-door.  Must be adept in 1920’s-30’s period vocal stylings.  Mezzo Soprano and belt/mix.

 

 

 

FUNNY GIRL

1st Reh: 12/27/12.  Runs: 1/10/13 - 1/27/13 (Possible extension till 2/3/13)

Fanny:

Late 20s / early 30s. Entertainer from New York’s lower east side. Quirky. Fearless. Comedic Finesse. Acting range from impassioned teen to major star.

 

Nick Arnstein:

30ish. Baritone. Smooth sheister/handsome leading man.

 

Mrs. Brice:

Tough Brooklyn/Jewish mother. Dry funny. 50ish. Must sing.

 

Mrs. Strakosh:

Also 50ish. Also Brooklyn. Shrill. Yet funny.

 

Eddie Ryan:

30ish. Song & dance man (with tap) . Bright. Energetic. Sincere.

 

Florence Ziegfeld:

Imposing. Resonant. In his 60s. Distinguished.

 

 

LES MISERABLES

1st Reh in NYC: 1/31/13.  1st Reh in Vero Beach: 1/5/13.  Runs: 2/21/13 - 3/10/13

(Possible Extension to 3/24/13)

Jean Valjean

35 to 45, Tenor, low A to high B. Ages from mid-thirties to early fifties over the course of the play. Intelligent, with strong physical strength and moral strength. Mature and Compassionate. 
 

Javert

35 to 50s, Baritone A, low F to F sharp Also ages 17 years from mid-thirties to late forties, early fifties.  Rigid and stern character with an ominous presence. 
 

Cosette

18 to 25, Soprano, B flat (below Middle C) to High C with belt, must be able to float a b flat, but not operatic-sounding.  Beautiful and innocent with purity in her life.

 

Fantine

Mezzo-Soprano. 25 - 35, low G flat to E flat. Beautiful woman with an angelic demeanor

 

Marius

Lyric 25 -30s, Tenor  or High Lyric Baritone low A to high A flat 20s. Romantic hero. Good looking, young leading man.

 

Eponine

20s, Mezzo Belt (low F sharp to E) Child of the streets with a yearning heart.

 

Thenardier

30s-40s, Baritone (C to high G flat). Strong character with comedic ability that can transform to a hidden darker side

Madame Thenardier

30s -40s, Alto / Mezzo Belt (low G sharp to D).  Strong character similar to Thenardier. Unethical but a survivor

 

Enjorlas

20s -30s, Baritone / tenor (low A to high G).  Charismatic with fierce dedication. Intellectually and physically a leader.
