The Gin Game by D. L. Coburn. Dir: Allen D. Cornell. 1st reh: 2/27/12. Runs 3/13 – 3/25/12.
Fonsia Dorsey:
Prim and proper elderly woman who has just moved into a rundown nursing home. Appears to be a fragile victim, a diabetic woman has been abandoned by everyone she knows. No one comes to visit her. Fonsia is a victim only when it suits her purpose. Wears a mask of charm and reticence to hide her anger and intolerance. Underneath, she is very much in control of her emotions and has an intense need to be right, whatever the cost.
Weller Martin:
Character’s age is 70s – early 80s. He sees life in terms of winning and losing, and he is deeply enraged because life has apparently defeated him. A man of fierce spirit and will who has to have his own way and have the last say. Weller is energetic, but he tends to express his energy in angry outbursts and foul language. Can be charming when he wants something. Sees himself as a victim, but does not understand that he is a victim of his own temperament.
Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks by Richard Alfieri. Dir: Allen D. Cornell. 1st reh: 4/9/12. Runs 4/26 – 5/6/12.
Lily Harrison:
72. Former school teacher. Widow of a Baptist minister. Attractive, slim, well-dressed. Looks several years younger than her age.
Michael Minetti:
45 (trying to look 35). Attractive. Gay. Former chorus boy now turned dance instructor. Very vulgar; has a sharp, bitter tongue.
Boeing–Boeing by Marc Camoletti. English-language version: Beverley Cross. Dir: James Brennen. 1st reh: 10/10/11. Runs 10/27-11/13. All roles are cast. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary.
