Thursday, May 12, 2011 (accompanist provided) at the Nelly Goletti Theatre

AND Marist College Campus, 3399 North Road

Friday, May 13, 2011 (NO accompanist) Located on the third floor of the Student Center

Poughkeepsie, NY 12601

10 AM – 6 PM each day

Lunch from 1-2 pm.

No prescheduled appointments. Sign up on arrival.

Accompanist provided May12th only. Please prepare EITHER a brief song OR prepare sides provided by the Theatre OR prepare 32 bars of a song and the Theatre-provided sides. If singing, Bring sheet music in correct key; accompanist provided but will not transpose. Sondheim is encouraged. No pop or rock music.

On Tuesday, prepare sides provided by the theatre. The two non-musicals will be auditioned on both days.

Please bring a picture and resume stapled together.

THE 39 STEPS

1st rehearsal: June 21, 2011. Runs: July 8-17, 2011

Seeking:

Leading Man:

35-45: suave, upper-class bachelor bored with his life of privilege finds more adventure than he bargained for. He is our stiff upper-lipped hero, British accent required and able to play broad, physical comedy.

Female:

25-35: a sexy damsel of the 1930’s film noir tradition skilled in British, German and Scottish accents; ability to play broad, physical comedy as well as transform into multiple characters.

Two Clowns:

35-50: two athletic, physically agile, comedic actors skilled in various British, German and Scottish accents; ability to play broad, physical comedy as well as transform rapidly into multiple characters.

PUTTING IT TOGETHER

1993 Off Broadway version, by Stephen Sondheim

1st rehearsal: July 5, 2011. Runs: July 22-31, 2011.

Musical Director: Sarah Brett England.

Seeking:

Women 1:

CAST: 45-55, Mezzo Soprano, beautiful leading lady, wealthy, intelligent, biting, sarcastic wit.

Women 2:

25-30: Soprano with big belt G3-C6; Gorgeous, sexy, very flirtatious, And not too bright. Please bring both head voice and belt selections.

Man 1:

45-55: Leading Man. Baritone F2-F4; Wealthy, waspy, handsome, tall (6ft or over), very self assured and confident, husband to woman 1.

Man 2:

40-50: Attractive leading man type. Tenor G2-G4. Shows vulnerability as well as seductive charms. He is still a bachelor and on the hunt.

Man 3:

40-55. Narrator, baritone G2-G4. Character actor with great comedic chops. Narrates the show, establishes pace.

DINNER WITH FRIENDS

Dinner with Friends: is a rueful comedy about two prosperous, sophisticated Connecticut suburbanite couples. Gabe and his wife, Karen, are world traveling food writers, while their friends, Tom and Beth are splitting up.

All races and ethnicities are encouraged to audition. All four actors must eat onstage.

Seeking:

Karen:

38-45: International food writer, queen of domesticity, perfectionist, wants everything to be “just so”.

Beth:

38-45: Artist, free spirit, the opposite of “domestic”.

Gabe:

38-45: Karen’s husband, international food writer, organized the “nice guy” type.

Tom:

38-45: Beth’s husband, a lawyer, previously a playboy, thin, he retains his looks and charm.
