Instruments are not provided, please bring your own. We will make an amp available in the audition room for convenience of getting through the audition process.
Bring picture and resume, stapled together to the audition.
All roles are open except LM, the piano player. All men must play guitar. Men who cannot already play the instruments required for these roles will not be considered. Note: Music files for most of these roles are available on the theatre Winter Haven website,

Jackson:
18-55. Plays lead guitar and sings the top line in the music. Men interested in this role should be able to improvise for 8 bars in fast two (quarter note = 144) in the following chords: G C7 G D7 G. Additionally, they will be asked to prepare the song “Mona” from the show both vocally and on guitar as they will be required to sing and play this song at auditions. If called back, these men will be asked to sing in parts and may be asked to play from the score.
Jim:
18-55. Plays guitar and sings the middle line in the music. Men interested in this role should prepare the song “Highway 57” from the show both vocally and on guitar as they will be required to sing and play this song at auditions. If called back, these men will be asked to sing in parts and may be asked to play from the score.
Eddie:
18-55. Plays the bass guitar and does not sing
Prudie and Rhetta:
25-45. Two waitresses at the Double Cupp café and play percussion in the show. The women playing these roles will need to have a strong sense of rhythm. These percussion parts are auxiliary percussion (tambourines and such), not drum sets. Prudie sings the top line and Rhetta sings the bottom line in the music. Women interested in playing these roles should prepare 16 to 32 bars of an appropriate song to sing at the audition. Depending on time, the initial audition may or may not include a movement portion. If called back, these women will be asked to sing in parts and may be asked to play from the score and/or move.
