NOTE: PROMETHEUS BOUND is a new rock musical retelling of the myth of PROMETHEUS, a Greek God sentenced to an eternity tethered to a large rock in punishment for his arrogance in giving fire to humankind. ALL actors should possess outstanding rock voices.

Seeking:

Prometheus:

Male, mid 20s to late 30s. God who gave fire to humankind; sexy, charismatic, intelligent. Chiseled looks and brawn less important than a self-assured, attractive actor with a commanding stage presence and ability to rock the house vocally and in physical largess. Headstrong, unpredictable and stubborn. Outside the box ideas such as rock musicians, performance artists, etc encouraged.

IO:

Female, early to late 20s. A mortal, and the object of Zeus’ desire; physically distinctive and captivating, be it conventionally sexy and beautiful, or attractive and ethereal, or spiky and fierce, etc. Cast out and shunned by those jealous of the attention she receives from Zeus, she wanders nomadically in shackles and horns, seeking only solace and peace.

Hermes:

Male, 20s. Zeus’ officious messenger; takes great joy and pleasure in his job; on a bit of a power trip. Funny and charming in his own way, Hermes might be the guy at the office who counts paper clips, notes if you’re five minutes late, and delights in letting the boss know he caught you smoking in the bathroom. All physical types. Humor a plus.

Oceanos:

Male, mid 30s to late 40s. The god of Water. Authoritative and commanding; a figure of wisdom and stature, with not a little mystery and inscrutability. Makes it his mission to see Prometheus is set free.

Force & Violence:

Males, early to mid 30s. Zeus’ henchmen. Single-minded, intense and unwavering in carrying out their duties for Zeus. All distinctive physical and vocal types. They are not the Hardy Boys.

Chorus:

Females, mid 20s to 30. The daughters of Oceanos. Passionate, soulful, and wise beyond their years. Fiercely protective of Prometheus. Fantastic voices of all ranges necessary. Seeking actresses of all ethnicities and types. PLEASE NOTE that ‘chorus’ does not mean ‘small role’. These are substantial players with many songs and much dialogue.
