NOTE: While all the characters should appear to be in their mid to later teens, we are looking for youthful actors in their early to mid 20’s who have the chops to handle the music and dramatic material. We welcome actors of color.
SEEKING:
Maddie
15, is going through a rough time in her life. Her parents were recently divorced and left her caught in the middle. She’s turned to her friends to get her through it, and desperately wants a better life. Clean pop/rock sound, belts up to F.
Brynn
15, is the leader of her group of friends. She has always been somewhat maternal and, in the face of being overshadowed by her older sister, wants to be as mature as she can be. Pop/rock sound, belts up to E flat.
Kaylee
16, is the second in command. She is full of attitude, brash and confrontational and always trying to shock. Pop/rock sound, belts up to F sharp.
Jeanelle
15, is as innocent as any teenager can reasonably be expected to be. She’s also slightly neurotic and over-emotional and has trouble being forceful. Bright pop/rock sound, belts up to D but with a strong lower register.
Sansanee
17, is the queen of the school. She won’t put up with bullshit from anyone. Pop/rock sound, belts up to D.
Jenn
16, is Sansanee’s lackey. She’s a gossip who is eager to please, at least when it comes to Sansanee. Pop/rock sound, belts up to C.
Cory
16, is a somewhat reserved boy who works at the local movie theater concession stand. Not smooth with the girls. Pop/rock tenor, sings to a G.
Justin
17, is Jeanelle’s boyfriend. He’s nice enough but can be a jerk to her. Pop baritone. (The actor playing Justin may double as other men in the show.)

Charlie:
Early 20s. A simple Canadian farm boy, good with horses, who joins the cavalry to fight in Europe in World War I. Full of bravado, he suffers from a childhood fear of thunder storms and has a tendency to curse. A dreamer, he falls deeply in love with Mary, and she gives him strength.
Mary:
Early 20s. A worldly British girl who recently moved with her mother to join her father in “the wilds of Canada.” New to country life, she is imaginative, adventurous and affectionate. A lover of poetry and romance, she falls immediately in love with Charlie.
