Potomac Theatre Project (PTP/NYC) 2012

– Equity Principal Auditions

New York City LOA (approval/salary level pending. 2011 weekly minimum: $285). RT transportation (NYC-VT-NYC) and VT housing provided.

Co-Artistic Dirs: Jim Petosa, Richard Romagnoli, Cheryl Faraone.

Rep rehearses in Middlebury VT beginning 6/12/12. Shows run in rep at Atlantic Stage 2 in NYC from 7/3-29 (15 performances each).

Please prepare a contemporary monologue, 2 minutes or less.

Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back.

All dates are in 2012. All roles are available unless otherwise specified. For pre-cast roles, auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary, and as understudies.


SERIOUS MONEY by Caryl Churchill. Dir: Cheryl Faraone.

Lacerating look at financial excess in the 1980s, in verse.

Most actors play 2+ characters.

Greville Todd / Durkfeld / Others:

Multi-character track (males, 40+) for one actor. Todd: British stockbroker. Durkfeld: American banker. Actor also plays Duckett, Soat and Gleason.

Jacinta Condor:

Peruvian businesswoman, 30s. Sleek and predatory.

PR Woman / Trader / Reporter / Others:

Multi-character track (females, 30s) for one actor.

Scilla:

CAST. Woman, 30s. Dealer on the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange. Performer also plays Ms. Biddulph.

Marylou Baines: CAST. American arbitrageur, 40s. Performer also plays Dolcie Starr.

Zac: CAST. American banker, 30s.

Corman: CAST. Man, 30s-40s. Takeover specialist.

MONSTER by Neal Bell. Dir: Jim Petosa.

Victor:

30s. Doctor. Creator of the Monster.

The Creature:

Male. Victor’s creation. Large and menacing. Strong movement ability needed.

Walton / Victor’s Father:

Two-character track (males) for one actor. Walton: Sea captain. Father: Worried and avuncular.

Justine / Victor’s Mother:

CAST. Two-character track (females) for one actor. Justine: Servant in Victor’s household.
