Seeking (the following will be or may be on Equity contracts):

Note: Theater Emory states that it casts entirely from the Atlanta / North Georgia area. No housing is available to out-of-area performers.

Mr. Musgrove:

50s. Exuberant. Landowner. Happily married. Has a robust sense of life and good fortune. Well-mannered, but with a boisterous sense of humor. Not aristocratic.

Mrs. Musgrove:

50s. Confident. A social “butterfly”, especially in the country. Happy mother and grandmother. “Country” wit with very little talent, but loves a good opportunity to rub elbows with the elite.

Mr. Shepherd:

40s-50s. Solicitor to Sir Walter Elliot. Accommodating. Person of reason/logic. Well-mannered, but not stuffy.

Admiral Croft:

50s. Career naval officer. Married and very happy. Easily amused and confident. Neither arrogant nor threatened by higher status. Enjoys good social company.

Mrs. Croft:

50s. Confident and mature. Well-mannered, yet very approachable. Happily married, and the “anchor” for Admiral Croft.

Captain Wentworth:

30s. Successful naval officer. Former love of Anne Elliot. Quiet, but strong and determined. Well-mannered and socially astute. Maintains a social formality suited to a naval veteran.

The following roles are cast. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary.

Sir Walter Elliot:

CAST. 60s. Patriarch of the House of Elliot. Pompous, arrogant; absorbed in his position as a baron, and expects to be admired for his place in society. Widower. Ultra mannered.

Lady Russell:

CAST. 50s. Close friend and confidante to the Elliots. Socially adept and highly mannered. Confident, opinionated. Almost a surrogate mother to Anne Elliot.
