Friday, June 24, 2011 at the Actors' Equity Audition Center

10 AM – Equity female singers 165 West 46th Street, 2nd Floor

2 PM – Equity male singers New York, NY

Prepare 16 bars of a song from or in the style of the show. Bring sheet music in correct key; accompanist provided but may not transpose.

Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

Seeking:

Ensemble Male Singers:

For the following chorus parts including:

Ike, Slim, Fred, Guy: All the guys are African American, rough around the edges, look like they have worked outdoors, 20s and 30s, singer/dancers

Cord Elam: African American, late 30s, or 40s. U.S. Marshall, earthy, tough. (but would be great if he could also be part of the men’s ensemble, so needs to be a dancer as well).

Ensemble Female Singers:

For the following chorus parts including:

Vivian, Kate, Virginia, Ellen: All the girls are African American, should be attractive, look like they’ve milked a cow or two, in their 20s, singer/dancers

Gertie: African American, 20s, pretty in an over the top way; rival for Curly’s affections.
