As Olympe de Gouges attempts to write a play about the underrepresented playmakers of the French Revolution, she is visited by an assassin, a queen, and a spy.
CHARLOTTE CORDAY: an assassin in her mid 20s. She is serious and righteous.
MARIANNE ANGELLE: a free woman from the Caribbean. 30 - 45. She is a tough, classy and vigilant spy working with her husband

A new adaptation requiring a diverse ensemble of 5-8 actors (of all genders, different ages and races/ethnicities) who should have skill in Puppetry, and/or who sing and/or play instruments, and dance, juggle or who have acrobatic training And who can demonstrate physicality, inventiveness, precision, vocal range and clarity.

In this production, the roles of Catherine, Robert and Claire will be cast as characters of Asian descent.
CATHERINE: a sarcastic, intelligent, volatile ex-mathematician in her 20s.
ROBERT: Catherine’s father. He is is supportive of Catherine’s life choices.
CLAIRE: Catherine’s sister and Robert’s daughter, late 20s, sociable and controlling of Catherine’s actions
HAL: late 20's, any ethnicity.

The theatre intends to cast this production with all male actors.
LA MARQUISE DE MERTEUIL is widowed, smart, rebellious, and manipulative.
MADAME DE VOLANGES is the pious, somewhat oblivious, also widowed cousin of Merteuil.
CÉCILE VOLANGES, daughter of Volanges, is a young and naive - age 15.
MAJOR-DOMO is Merteuil’s chief steward.
LE VICOMTE DE VALMONT is deceitful, exploitative, yet charming.
AZOLAN is Valmont’s valet and accomplice.
MADAME DE ROSEMONDE is the lively, intelligent older aunt of Valmont.
LA PRÉSIDENTE DE TOURVEL is smart, well-liked, and trusting.
ÊMELIE is a well-liked courtesan by Valmont.
LE CHEVALIER DANCENY loves Cécile but does not know how to show it. He is an eager and smart but timid man in his 20’s.
