Please prepare a brief, contemporary musical theatre song showing range. Bring sheet music in the correct key; accompanist is provided, but may not transpose.

Please bring a picture and resume, stapled back-to-back.

Seeking the following roles only at this time, for the original company of the Broadway production:





Jack:

AVAILABLE ROLE. Caucasian male, 17-22 years old. Handsome, passionate and charismatic leader of the Newsies. A street-smart kid with a dark artistic soul right beneath the bluster. Not a blowhard. This kid’s the real thing. Must have a great pop tenor voice. LEAD.

Medda:

AVAILABLE ROLE. Woman, 40s-60s, any ethnicity. A vaudeville star of the Bowery variety. Risqué , tough, with a big voice and GREAT comic delivery.

Les:

AVAILABLE ROLE. Caucasian boy, age 10-12. Davey’s fearless kid brother. Excited by everything the world has to offer, and eager to join in the adventure. “Fun” is this kid's middle name. Must sing really well. Also seeking Les Alternate.

Joseph Pulitzer:

AVAILABLE ROLE (added to notice on 11/29/11). Caucasian man, 40s. The boisterous forefather of William F. Buckley Jr, Glenn Beck and Rupert Murdoch. An on-point, know-it-all politician. Impolite and impatient with the world. Must sing well.
