A New Musical Comedy inspired by “Growing Up Lutheran” By Jim Stowell and Jessica Zuelke
Roles: Everyone sings.
Pastor E.L. Gunderson: 40-60?s, the agreeable Pastor of East Cornicopia
Lutheran Church of the Prairie who?s recently married a young wife.
Mrs. Lars (Vivian) Snustad: 60 something, a long time widow, she is the
matriarch of the kitchen and doesn?t like change.
Mrs. Gilmer (Mavis) Gilmerson: 50-something, a farmer?s wife, going
through the change.
Mrs. Elroy (Karin) Engelson: 40-something, Signe?s mother, she is
charming, warm and has the most style.
Miss Signe Engelson: Plays 19-23, Spunky, slightly sassy but respectful,
Karin?s daughter, she is going to school at the “U”, which is in the “Cities.”

Richard Hannay: our hero, dark wavy hair, 37 years old, six foot one, piercing blue eyes, a pencil mustache.
Annabella Schmidt/Pamela/ Margaret: a lovely match to Hannay somewhat
younger.
Clown 1 & Clown 2: These two play all the other characters in the movie
the playwright estimates 250 characters

Becky (Rebecca) Foster: a woman in her late 40?s, mother of Chris, wife of Joe, she works at a car dealership and is a little bored with her life.
Joe Foster: Becky?s husband, a roofer, late 40?s.
Chris Foster: their son, a psychology student, 26, still lives at home.
Walter Flood: a very wealthy businessman, widowed, 60?s Kensington (Kenni) Flood: Walter daughter, 23.
Steve: Becky?s co-worker, widowed, 50.
Ginger: a neighbor of Walter?s, single 50?s.

Please prepare 2 contrasting comic pieces, incorporating physical comedy, not exceeding 3 minutes combined. Additionally, you may sing 16 bars of a song. Bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided. Bring headshot and resume.

Actors will be cast in 2 or 3 of the shows.
Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend.
