ALL ACTORS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO AUDITION, REHEARSE, AND TRAVEL FROM NYC.
All actors are signs as Actor/ASMs. Actor/ASMs are required to unload/load, setup and/or strike the set. No single piece of scenery shall exceed such proportions of height or weight as to make it impossible to be carried reasonably by two members of the company.
ALL CHARACTERS MUST SING! This is a musical based on the popular children's' book series, NATE THE GREAT. All MUST be versatile with comedic flair. Also must be able to carry tight harmonies.
Seeking a diverse company. Ethnic performers encouraged to submit.
Nate:
(Male, Bari-tenor with high notes) 18+ to play 7 or 8 years old. An only child he has a very inventive imagination and a dry sense of humor. Has his imaginary friends are famous detectives. No taller than 5’10
Annie:
(African-American female, Soprano w/ belt) 18+ to play 7 or 8 years old. Sweet, prim, very girly, but very smart. Inquisitive and kind.
Charley Chan / Rosamund:
(Asian-American female, Soprano w/belt ) 18+ to play Charley Chan an expert imaginary detective; very shrewd, very thoughtful. Also plays Rosamund is a very dour child in the vein of Edward Gorey or Charles Addams. No taller than 5’4”.
Sherlock Holmes / Plain Hex:
(Male, Bari-tenor) 18+ to play Holmes, the stereotypical British sleuth; and also Plain Hex, one of Rosamund’s crazy cats.
Fang / Big Hex/ Harry:
(Male, Bari-tenor) 18+ to play Fang, Annie’s zealous and charismatic pet dog; Big Hex, one of Rosamund’s crazy cats; and Harry, Annie’s 2 year old little brother who is obsessed with the color red and painting. Ethnic performers encouraged to submit. No taller than 5’10.
