Equity Principal Auditions:

Friday, February 3, 2012 at Urban Stages

10 AM – 6 PM 259 West 30th Street, between 7th and 8th Aves.

Lunch from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM New York City

Please prepare a brief, contemporary monologue under 2 minutes.

Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

Seeking:

Luigi Wells:

40s. African-American man. A jazz drummer (no playing required) in Omaha, Nebraska, 1969. Attractive, charismatic, warm, draws people in.

George Hollewinski:

Man, 50s - early 60s. Owner of an Accordion Music Studio. Rumpled, lovable. Can be stubborn, but wants to do the right thing.

The following three roles are cast. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible replacements, should any become necessary.

Vivian Strong:

CAST. 14. African-American. Smart, funny, animated by a desire to “know what’s what.” A bundle of energy who is a born story-teller and loves to mimic the characters in the stories she tells.

Mary Margaret Irzandowsky:

CAST. 16. Attractive, intelligent and musically talented. A product of a Catholic, Polish, Mid-western upbringing, but curious and anxious to expand her horizons.

Helen Hollewinski:

CAST. 50s. George’s wife and bookkeeper for the Music Studio with strong religious background. Intelligent, attractive, charming, but suspicious and wary of strangers.
