Seeking (all roles are available unless otherwise specified:
[WILLIE MOORE] - late 20’s - early 30’s, prisoner of Alcatraz on trial for murder
[HENRY DAVIDSON] - late 20’s - early 30’s, attorney in the Public Defender’s office. Fresh out of law
school, first job.
[HAROLD HUMSON] - 50s–60s, Caucasian (historical character). Warden of Alcatraz. Powerful, political figure. Conservative and dignified. Bespectacled. Humane, however has difficulty admitting fault.
[MILTON GLENN] - 40’s, assistant warden at Alcatraz, controlled, smart, not so humane...
[BILL MCNEIL] - 40s–50s, Prosecuting attorney. Straightforward, no-nonsense personality. Determined to bring this case to a quick close.
[MARY McCASSLIN] - 30’s, attorney in the Public Defender’s office, older girlfriend of Henry, under
pressure from her boss
[BLANCHE] - 20’s - Prostitute/court reporter, tough but compassionate.
[SWENSON/FORMAN OF JURY] - 30’s, prison guard at Alcatraz, witness at trial
[SIMPSON/GUARD] - 30’s - prison guard at Alcatraz, witness at trial
[BAILIFF/JAILER] - 30’, Bailiff of Judge Clawson’s courtroom
[JUROR/GUARD/REPORTER] - late 30’s - male
The following roles are cast. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary.
[BYRON DAVIDSON] - (CAST) Late 30s–early 40s, Henry’s brother. Successful, ambitious, corporate
attorney. Poster boy for Corporate America. Politically driven.
[HENKIN] - (CAST) 50s, Head of Public Defender's office. Over-worked and under-paid. Always under a great deal of political pressure.
[JUDGE CLAWSON] - (CAST) 60’s - No nonsense, crotchety, presiding Judge.
[HOOLIHAN] - (CAST) - 50’s, cynical tough bird newspaper man.
