Synopsis:
Set in an industrial section of a large Mid-western city at the start of the great depression. Moony is a factory worker who wants more than his life has to offer. During a late night quarrel with Jane, his frustrated wife, Moony decides to leave his mundane existence and attempts to return to his life as a lumberjack. In the end, he chooses to embrace his domestic life and pours his ambitions and hope for the future onto his newborn son.

SEEKING:
MOONY
African American, Male, tall and strongly built - Mid 20s- Mid 30s. Moony is a man with a passionate and commanding presence as well as a large imagination. He is a former lumberjack who works in an industrial factory. Frustrated by the oppression of city life and his new family, he dreams of returning to his life of freedom as a woodsman. Seeking an actor who is great with language and who can also portray a blue-collar sensibility. Stage fighting experience and the ability to carry a tune is a plus.
JANE
African American, Female, petite - Mid 20s – Mid 30s. Jane is Moony’s wife and the mother of Moony’s newborn son. A former taxi-dancer who gave birth one month ago. Her striking good looks are overshadowed by her weariness and frustration with home life. Although highly emotional and physically ill from child labor, she has a strong will that is a match for Moony’s ambitions. Seeking an actress who is great with language and who can also portray a blue-collar sensibility. The ability to carry a tune is a plus. Must be comfortable with stage fight choreography.
